Almost everything here comes from records that are already public. This page says exactly which ones, so you can check any claim at its origin.
City council
- Meeting agendas, packets, minutes and video come from the city’s CivicClerk portal, which publishes them as they are released.
- Vote records come from the approved minutes. Utah law requires per-member votes to be recorded there, which is why this site can report who voted how rather than only the outcome.
- Meeting notices and public hearings are cross-checked against the Utah Public Notice Website, the state’s statutory noticing system.
Every motion published here links back to the specific document and page it came from. If a summary and the source disagree, the source wins — tell us.
Events
City-run events come from Eagle Mountain City’s own public events feed. Public meetings and hearings come from the state notice system. Everything else is submitted by residents and organizations and reviewed before it is published.
Business directory
The directory is built from Eagle Mountain City’s public business registry feed and rebuilt regularly, so a listing reflects the city’s record rather than a stale copy. Businesses can correct or claim their own listing by emailing [email protected]; there are no accounts to create.
Demographics and finance
Population, household and income figures come from U.S. Census QuickFacts and the city’s own published counts, and the two are named separately when they disagree — the city’s count and the Census estimate for Eagle Mountain differ by roughly ten thousand people, and rounding that away would be misleading. Tax and budget figures come from the county assessor, the state Tax Commission, and adopted city budget documents.
What we do not do
- We do not republish another outlet’s reporting as our own. Where a story started somewhere else, that outlet is named and linked.
- We do not scrape and cache third-party commercial data, including Google Places content.
- We do not present a machine summary as a source. The source is the document.
